☀️ 📖 This summer, we’re offering a series of classes to equip our church to better understand Scripture and live for God’s glory.
Classes will meet on Sundays right after service and will run for six sessions until the end of July.
Dates: 6/7, 6/14, 6/21, 7/5, 7/12, 7/19
Five classes taught by pastors and interns:
1. LH Leaders Training - Pastor Charles
This class is designed to equip and care for those leading, serving, or looking to lead within Lighthouse Ministry. It will be grounded in the gospel and cover the heart, character, and practical responsibilities of effective leadership. Topics include navigating challenges, caring for people, and multiplying leaders. The aim is to raise up leaders who are well equipped and prepared to lead faithfully and shepherd well. This class is also required for all LITs in post grad.
2. Gospel 101 - Pastor Jin
This class walks through the core message of the gospel and its implications for everyday life. It will cover who God is, the reality of sin, the finished work of Christ, and the call to respond in repentance and faith. The aim is to grow in gospel fluency, thinking clearly about the gospel, being shaped by it, and living it out in community and on mission.
3. The Fear of God and the Fear of Man - Pastor Jooch
The Bible presents the fear of God as a virtue and the beginning of all knowledge, yet we often allow the fear of man to create anxiety in our lives. This fear of others reveals our hidden idols, showing that we are controlled by the opinions of people while forgetting what God thinks of us. While it is right to recognize the weight of God’s judgment, we must distinguish between an "ungodly" fear rooted in shame and a "good" fear rooted in holy awe. This course will dive into what scripture says about the fear of God to help us diagnose our anxieties and reclaim the "bigness" of God.
4. Fruit of the Spirit - Tae Park
This class explores the Fruit of the Spirit and what it means to live a life shaped by the Holy Spirit. We'll walk through each spiritual fruit - developing clear, biblical definitions and contrasting them with common cultural understandings. The aim is to build a biblical worldview of spiritual growth shaped by the Fruit of the Spirit.
5. Full Armor of God - Juwon Lee
Believers face spiritual battles every day. How can we be equipped to stand firm and fight against the schemes of the devil? This class will go over spiritual warfare and each part of the full armor of God. We will learn how to be prepared to go into battle each day.
