Sinning as a Christian

If a Christian sins, it is always against God's will.  A person who has been truly born again (regenerated) "falls" rather than "dives" into sin.  In other words, a true believer "resists" it rather than "welcomes" it.  Think about the following analogy by Ray Comfort:  "Any dead fish can float downstream.  It takes a live one to swim against the currents."

It is true that Christians still experience temptations and can sometimes fall into sin, but they are no longer slaves to sin (Rom. 6:6).  They have God's Holy Spirit within them to empower them to say "no" to temptation, and to convict their conscience of wrongdoing when they do sin.

Grace of God is never a licence to sin.  It has never been free, for it costed the life of God's one and only Son, Jesus Christ.  May we hate sin with a passion and see sin as God sees it.
