What to expect at Acts Fellowship Church
When are your services, and how long are they?
Our worship starts at 10 a.m., and we like to start on time, so it might be good to come about 10 minutes early to get comfortable and perhaps prepare yourself for worship. Our services should finish inside an hour and a half, so we should be done before 11:30 a.m. You should expect a message somewhere between 30-35 minutes long.
Is there anything else on Sunday other than service?
We encourage you to stop by our Welcome room after service to receive a little more information about Acts. It should be no more than 5-10 minutes of your time, so please come get to know us more.
Also, we offer Adult Christian Education classes after service. We believe that growing in faith always involves growing in the knowledge of God. These various classes begin at 11:30 and end around 12:30. Please don't feel pressured to go, but we encourage you to attend. We offer new courses twice a year.
After classes end, many of us go out to eat at local Austin restaurants, and we'd love for you to join us.
What should I wear?
At Acts, we welcome you just as you are, so how you dress is a matter of personal choice. When you come, you should expect to see most of us dressed in jeans, but we encourage you to dress in a way that would be meaningful for your worship to God.
What if I have kids?
At Acts, we have children ranging from newborns to middle school aged. Here are some of the resources available for your children.
Child Care: During our service, we provide nursery care for toddlers, but not for infants. If you have any infants, you're welcome to bring them into service with you. We have a small room in the back where you can attend to your baby's needs.
Sunday School: We also provide Sunday School for children up to the 5th grade during our service. Our church feels that after this point it's more important for children to be integrated into the main service and experience worship with their parents and other adults. We want to show young people that spiritual life doesn't end after high school.
What kinds of people should I expect to see when I come?
We'd love for you to come and join us, whoever you are and wherever you come from. That being said, we think it might be helpful for you to know a little about us. Our church is on the younger side of the spectrum. Our congregation is made up of college students and young professionals, of whom some are married with children. We welcome all ethnicities, but you'll see that we're mostly Asian-Americans who grew up in the States.
Do I need to bring an offering?
If you are
visiting our church, please don't feel pressured or obligated to give
an
offering. We trust God that He will
provide the financial needs of our church through the members of our
church.
What kind of music do you play?
At Acts, we mostly sing contemporary worship music with a full band. We know music can be a personal choice, but we strive for excellence and accessibility in our service, so please come and listen. We generally stand during the singing time, which lasts about 20 minutes.
